Our entire school, children and staff, are divided into four house teams. The children chose to name the teams after the birds of prey that may be found in our woodland. Each team has Year Six captains who are responsible for the work of the team. Throughout the year the teams work together to earn house points. Each week ‘Golden Time’ is had by the winning team for the week, non – uniform days are rewards at the end of each term, and a shield is then awarded to the house champions at the end of the year.
Special days and sessions are held during the year when the houses work together on given projects or challenges. Social and communication skills and team building skills are developed, and these days also offer fun learning opportunities when children learn with children of different ages.
